Showroom Cinema
I have watched films at the Showroom before starting this course but I didn't realise all the things they do. They are not just a cinema they hold events, festivals, offices, meeting rooms and exhibition space for business to hire and education events like the BFI film academy.
I have also learnt that the Showroom is one of the largest independent cinema in europe. I really think that the Showroom is a great place to watch films you would't normal watch. As the cinemas are a good size, the staff are friendly and the food at the cafe is fanatic. I am really glad I applied to this course as it's made me fall in love with the Showroom cinema.
My progress (Skill challenge)
I feel I have learnt a lot about cinematic photography, from research online, looking up pictures and people who have inspire me, from Youtube videos and taking photos in style of someone.
I have leant how to create a horror feel to my photos, from my Evil Dead photos of the trees. I used very basic editing software (iphoto) to make to photo darker and make to tree look creepy.
I used Iphoto to make this photo have a magnificent sky, I made the definition and sharpness higher.
I have leant how to use props with my photography. This was a challenge as my robot would not stand up or move very well.

I now know how to make a photo look vintage by using colour tones (sepia)

Sheffield Doc fest
I didn't know a lot about Sheffield Doc Fest but after a lesson with someone from the festival I know know a lot more.
I didn't know that is shows documentaries from around the world, and that film-makers can met people to pitch new ideas, meet future co-production partners and get insider tips from some of the world's best film makers. It's not just a festival for documentary but for film makers to get people to fund thier next projects.
