History of film - Sound

We looked at the first films to use sound, we watch part of the film Blackmail (Knife at breakfast)
We talked about how Hitchcock use sound to create tension and atmosphere in this scene, by making the dialogue quite apart from the word knife.

I could only find this video of the Spanish Dracula which has been dubbed and had music put over it.

We then looked at the difference between the English and Spanish versions of Dracula. I liked the Spanish version more as I feel it has better shots, I really like the shot that zooms up the stairs to see Dracula standing at the top, making look powerful.
